System update: prepayment refunds
The update concerns how prepayment refunds are handled in the event of an order cancellation — depending on whether the company has integrated its own Montonio account with Autlio or not.
If the company has integrated its Autlio account with Montonio:
Nothing changes here. In the event of an order cancellation, the company refunds the prepayment to the customer themselves if the customer has requested a payout. If the customer does not request a payout, the amount remains available for them to use for future orders with the same company.
If the company does not have a Montonio integration and payments move through Autlio’s payment mediation (with a 9% service fee):
In the event of an order cancellation, the customer can use the same prepayment for future orders with any company on the Autlio platform or the rentster.ee portal, or request a payout instead.
Why this is important:
- A clear distinction between the two payment solutions — entrepreneurs know exactly how money moves for their customers in case of cancellation
- For customers who paid via Autlio’s payment mediation, the money remains available and can be used more broadly, not just with one specific company
- Less confusion and fewer support queries regarding prepayments for cancelled orders
- Customer convenience when an error is made in an order — the customer can cancel it themselves and place a new order using the same prepayment, without anyone having to move funds back and forth again
Who benefits from this:
For all Autlio customers, but especially for those companies that do not yet have their own Montonio integration and use Autlio’s own payment mediation.
How to use:
No separate configuration is required — behavior depends automatically on whether the Montonio integration is active on the company’s account or not.
